FAQ's

Q: What does Furrever & After Cat Sanctuary do?

A: We are a foster-based rescue dedicated to saving cats in need, including those with special needs. Our mission is to provide medical care, find furrever homes, and reduce overpopulation through programs like TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are based out of Mahoning County and primarily operate as a foster-based organization. While we don't have a physical shelter yet, it's part of our future goals.

Q: How can I help with your organization?

A: There are many ways to help! You can foster, volunteer, donate, sponsor a cat, or attend our events. Any help is truly appreciated!

Q: How can I participate in TNR?

A: You can join our TNR efforts by volunteering, donating traps, or sponsoring a spay or neuter.

Q: Why return cats to their colonies?

A: Outdoor cats are often not suited for indoor living. Returning them to their familiar environment is the most humane option after neutering and vaccinating them.

Q: How can I adopt a cat from your organization?

A: Visit our adoptions section of our website to see our adoptable cats and kittens and submit an adoption application. We'll guide you through the process to find the perfect match for your home.

Q: What's included in the adoption fee?

A: Our adoption fees cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, testing for FIV/FeLV, and any necessary care. This ensures your new pet is ready for their furrever home.

Q: Can I meet the cats before adopting?

A: Absolutely! Once your application is approved, we'll arrange a meet and greet with the cat(s) you are interested in.

Q: What does fostering involve?

A: Fostering provides temporary care for cats until they're adopted. We supply food, litter, and medical care, and you provide love and a safe space.

Q: How do I become a foster?

A: Fill out our foster application on the Fosters page. We'll review your application and contact you to discuss next steps.

Q: Can I foster if I have other pets?

A: Yes! We'll work with you to ensure compatibility and provide guidance on introductions.

Q: Are special needs cats harder to care for?

A: Not necessarily! With proper guidance and a little extra attention, they can lead happy, fulfilling lives. Many adopters find the experience incredibly rewarding.

Q: How do I donate?

A: You can donate via our Donate section of our website.

Q: Can I sponsor a specific cat?

A: Yes! Please contact us in regard to what cat(s) you'd like to sponsor.

Q: Are donations tax-deductible?

A: Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax-deductible.

Q: What events do you host?

A: We host a variety of events and fundraisers, including our annual Tatts for Cats, Holiday Craft shows, and educational workshops. Check out our Events page for our upcoming fundraising events.
